Dallas’ Flite Golf and Century Golf Pair Up As a Driving Range and Entertainment Twosome

Get your slice ready. Dallas companies Flite Golf and Century Golf have teamed up to bring gamification tech to golf ranges and golf entertainment venues—with help from Senior Advisor Ken May, former CEO of Topgolf, Drive Shack, and FedEx Office.

The partnership unites Flite’s turnkey gamification and tech platform with Century’s decades of golf course ownership and operations experience.

Century Golf owns and operates nearly 50 golf courses across the U.S., including Walt Disney World Golf in Orlando. By partnering with Flite Golf and its turnkey tech platform, it plans to drive change.

“Flite’s technology is distinctive and extraordinary,” said Jim Hinckley, Century Golf’s founding partner and CEO in a statement. “By working together, we’re able to combine best-in-class design and technology implementation with all-inclusive management services.”

“By working together, we’re able to combine best-in-class design and technology implementation with all-inclusive management services,” Hinckley added.

Operating jointly, Flite and Century plan to provide comprehensive design, tech, and operations solutions for traditional golf ranges as well as modern golf entertainment venues.

Flite needed an operations partner

“As we looked at our rapid expansion with traditional driving ranges and with developers entering the golf entertainment space, we knew we needed an operations partner that could complement our technical capabilities to create an unparalleled offering,” said John Vollbrecht, CEO and founder of Flite, in the statement. “Century Golf’s experience and reputation are second to none.”

Ken May thinks the two make a winning combo. He should know—in his four years at Topgolf he oversaw the opening of 24 new venues and a quadrupling of its workforce.

“The combination of exceptional management from Century Golf and leading-edge technology from Flite is something that truly excites me and has the potential to change the future of golf entertainment,” May said.
