Law Firm: Lawrence Youst PLLC (Local)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16365573 on 03/26/2019 (1078 days app to issue)

Abstract: A hybrid propulsion engine for a rotorcraft includes a core turboshaft engine having a gas path and an output shaft that provides torque to a main rotor. A fan module is disposed relative to the core turboshaft engine and is coupled to the output shaft. The fan module has a bypass air path that is independent of the gas path. A thrust nozzle is configured to mix exhaust gases from the core turboshaft engine with bypass air from the fan module and to discharge the mixture to provide propulsive thrust. In a turboshaft configuration, the fan module is closed to prevent the flow of bypass air therethrough such that the thrust nozzle does not provide propulsive thrust. In a turboshaft and turbofan configuration, the fan module is open allowing the flow of bypass air therethrough such that the thrust nozzle provides propulsive thrust, thereby supplying propulsion compounding for the rotorcraft.

Abstract: A controller of an HVAC system monitors a suction-side property and a liquid-side property over a period of time. The controller determines whether the suction-side property has an increasing or decreasing trend over the period of time. The controller determines whether the liquid-side property has an increasing or decreasing trend. In response to determining that both the suction-side property and the liquid-side property have an increasing trend over the period of time, a fan fault is detected. In response to determining that the suction-side property has a decreasing trend and the liquid-side property has an increasing trend over the period of time, a blockage of a refrigerant conduit subsystem is detected. In response to determining that both the suction-side property and the liquid-side property have a decreasing trend over the period of time, a blower fault is detected.

Abstract: A system and corresponding method enforce strong load ordering in a processor. The system comprises an ordering ring that stores entries corresponding to in-flight memory instructions associated with a program order, scanning logic, and recovery logic. The scanning logic scans the ordering ring in response to execution or completion of a given load instruction of the in-flight memory instructions and detects an ordering violation in an event at least one entry of the entries indicates that a younger load instruction has completed and is associated with an invalidated cache line. In response to the ordering violation, the recovery logic allows the given load instruction to complete, flushes the younger load instruction, and restarts execution of the processor after the given load instruction in the program order, causing data returned by the given and younger load instructions to be returned consistent with execution according to the program order to satisfy strong load ordering.

Cognitive test advisor facility for identifying test repair actions
Patent No. 11269901

Inventor(s): Neeraj Madan (Little Elm, TX)
Assignee(s): INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION (Armonk, NY)
Law Firm: Heslin Rothenberg Farley Mesiti P.C. (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16744649 on 01/16/2020 (782 days app to issue)

Abstract: A cognitive test advisor facility is provided to identify repair action recommendations. The facility receives a user input regarding a test failure, and generates an expanded search input by identifying additional, alternative words for the user input. A database(s) is searched for test failure records relevant to keywords of the expanded search input, and relevant test failure records are prioritized using a relationship strength score based, at least in part, on relationship of the test failure records to the expanded search input. The facility detects test failure records from the searching having a relationship strength score higher than a threshold value, and analyzes the detected test failure records to identify potential test repair actions. Based on the analyzing, the facility generates a solution priority list including one or more suggested test repair actions for the test failure, and provides the solution priority list to the user.

Abstract: A computer-aided design (CAD) system may support detection of internal channel networks for 3D printing and may include a CAD model access engine and a channel network detection engine. The CAD model access engine may access a CAD model of a physical object to be constructed through 3D printing. The channel network detection engine may detect an internal channel network included in the CAD model of the physical object, including by identifying channel openings along a surface of the CAD model that satisfy an opening size threshold and recursively identifying internal faces of the CAD model that form the internal channel network, wherein the internal faces are faces of the CAD model that are internal to the surface of the CAD model. The channel network detection engine may also perform a channel verification on the identified internal channel network to support the 3D printing of the physical object.

Method and system for calculating printed area metric indicative of stochastic variations of the lithographic process
Patent No. 11270054

Inventor(s): Azat Latypov (San Jose, CA), Germain Louis Fenger (Gladstone, OR), Gurdaman Khaira (Beaverton, OR), Hyejin Jin (Palo Alto, CA), John L. Sturtevant (Portland, OR), Shumay D. Shang (Saratoga, CA)
Assignee(s): Siemens Industry Software Inc. (Plano, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 17008109 on 08/31/2020 (554 days app to issue)

Abstract: Systems and methods for calculating a printed area metric indicative of stochastic variations of the lithographic process are disclosed. Lithography is a process that uses light to transfer a geometric pattern from a photomask, based on a layout design, to a resist on a substrate. The lithographic process is subject to random stochastic phenomena, with the resulting stochastic randomness potentially becoming a major challenge. To characterize the stochastic phenomena, a printed area metric may be generated analytically (rather than via simulations) and comprise one or more defined moments for a printed area distribution associated with the printed area that are indicative of one or more aspects associated with printing. For example, the printed area metric may be indicative of the likelihood of printing within the printed area or the variance of printing within the printed area due to stochastic randomness in one or both of exposure or resist process.

Abstract: A security system that provides for secure communication between systems on a network without the need for encrypting the packets related to the communication, and thus, provides secure communications over the network without the processing capacity, memory, and/or processing delays caused by encryption of the packets. The disclosure aids in preventing rogue systems from being able to read communications over the network without the need for encryption. The packets for the communications are sent over the network in clear text, which are readable by any systems on the network, however, only the systems that are authorized are able to determine what packets are the correct packets and what packets are the imitation packets.

This may allow robust feedback and allow variably sized cophasing and beam index indicators to be carried on the channel. Also, this may allow periodic feedback of advanced CSI on existing Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) Format 2.

Application No., Date, Speed: 16900058 on 06/12/2020 (634 days app to issue)

Abstract: This invention relates to a network interface device. A first capture device interfaces with a first external information source to capture first external information. A processor processes the captured first external information and stores it in a first media. The processor initiates the storage of the first captured information at an initial time and completes storage of the first captured information at a completion time, thus providing a stored defined set of first captured information. A transmitter transmits the defined set of stored captured information to a remote location on a network. A remote processing system is disposed at the remote node on the network and includes a database and a receiver for receiving the transmitted defined set of first captured information. A data converter is operable to convert the received defined set of first captured information to a second format. The database stores the set of converted captured information.
