Law Firm: Chalker Flores, LLP (Local)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16103083 on 08/14/2018 (1015 days app to issue)

Abstract: A system and method for providing supplemental power includes: a motor-generator or a hydraulic pump-motor configured to attach to a transmission of an engine, a controller connected to the motor-generator or the hydraulic pump-motor, and a battery system or a hydraulic accumulator coupled to the motor-generator or the hydraulic pump-motor, respectively. During normal operation of the engine, the engine drives the transmission to rotate rotor blades connected to the transmission, and the motor-generator or the hydraulic pump-motor draws an energy from the transmission and store the energy in the battery system or the hydraulic accumulator, respectively. Upon a manual and/or an automatic control by the controller, the battery system or the hydraulic accumulator discharges the energy to the motor-generator or the hydraulic pump-motor, respectively, and the motor-generator or the hydraulic pump-motor provides the supplemental power to drive the transmission to rotate the rotor blades.

Application No., Date, Speed: 16089816 on 03/28/2017 (1519 days app to issue)

Abstract: The present invention pertains to the discovery that short chain aliphatic fatty acids, such as potassium sorbate, can be used in liquid-additive grinding compositions in the amount of at least 10%, more preferably at least 20%, and most preferably at least 30%, to mill carbonate materials into smaller particle size. The carbonate material can optionally be combined with another inorganic material in the grinding operation, such as limestone, lime, dolomites, talc, titanium dioxide, alumina, and kaolin, ceramics, and cement clinker. The use of the particularly described grinding additive composition are food-grade or food-contact approved, and are believed by the present inventors to resist the humectant behavior of the resultant ground particles which could in herently otherwise decrease efficiency of the particulate grinding process.

Law Firm: Dinsmore Shohl, LLP (5 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16909127 on 06/23/2020 (336 days app to issue)

Abstract: An apparatus for raising and lowering a cutting tool within a decoking drum, a decoking system and a method of raising and lowering a decoking system cutting tool. Instead of using metallic ropes, chains, or a self-propelled gear-based approach, non-metallic belts are secured at respective ends to a crosshead and one or more counterweights to enable vertical movement of the crosshead that in turn permits vertical movement of the cutting tool throughout the height of the drum. A motorized pulley system controls the movement of the belt, and preferably avoids having the motor be carried by the crosshead. The belts on each pulley are preferably arranged as cooperative sets so that within each set, both primary load belts and secondary load belts are present. Enhanced engagement between at least the primary load belts and the pulleys promotes greater load-bearing capability, while the secondary load belts are sufficiently strong to ensure positional stability of the crosshead and decoking tool upon damage to or failure of one or more of the primary load belts.

Abstract: A property of a downhole fluid, for example, a chemical species or ion concentration, may be accurately determined and logged based on measurements received from an optical detector where the optical detector is fed information or signals from an optical system coupled to one or more electrochemical probes calibrated for one or more properties of a fluid. The one or more electrochemical probes provide a potential to the optical system based, at least in part, on exposure to the downhole fluid. The optical system receives an optical signal from a light source that is transmitted via a transmission line, such as a fiber optic cable. Downhole information from the optical system is transmitted to the surface via the same or another transmission line. Thus, the signals are in the optical domain rather than the electrical domain. Multiple properties may be measured simultaneously using the same transmission line.

Edge-based camera for characterizing semiconductor layout designs
Patent No. 11017147

Inventor(s): Ahmed Hamed Fathi Hamed (Giza, , EG), Hazem Hegazy (Cairo, , EG), Omar Elsewefy (Giza, , EG)
Assignee(s): Siemens Industry Software Inc. (Plano, TX, US)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 16556794 on 08/30/2019 (634 days app to issue)

Abstract: System and methods for an edge-based camera are disclosed. Semiconductor layout designs are a representation of an integrated circuit that are used to manufacture the integrated circuit. Parts of the layout design, such as points of Interest (POIs), may be subject to analysis with regard to a downstream application, such as hotspot detection. Unlike pixel-based characterizations, POIs are characterized using topological features indicative of quantized values and dimensional features indicative of analog values. For example, an edge may be characterized using a set of relations, which characterizes corners and polygons (including the polygon on which the POI resides and external polygons). In turn, the set of relations may be used to define image representations, including images in different directions relative to the POI (including cardinal and ordinal image). In this way, the topological/dimensional characterization of the POI may be used to analyze the POI in the layout design.

Responsive to an input image being a second size larger than the first size, additional convolutional layers are added to the convolutional neural network. The number of additional convolutional layers is based on the second size in relation to the first size. The additional convolutional layers are initialized using weights from the first convolutional layers. Feature maps comprising the layer output signals are created.

Facilitation of dynamic spectrum aggregation for 5G or other next generation network
Patent No. 11019542

Inventor(s): Hongyan Lei (Plano, TX, US)
Assignee(s): ATT INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P. (Atlanta, GA, US), ATT MOBILITY II LLC (Atlanta, GA, US)
Law Firm: Amin, Turocy Watson, LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16790075 on 02/13/2020 (467 days app to issue)

Abstract: When frequency range (FR)1 (e.g., Sub6Ghz radio coverage), and FR2 (e.g., mmW coverage) are present in a given area, there can be a broader coverage from FR1 broadcasting in addition to targeted coverage from FR2 broadcasting. Consequently, FR1 can overlap FR2. To generate system efficiencies, the FR1 and FR2 spectrums can be combined by carrier aggregation (CA) and/or dual connectivity (DC). Thus, a hybrid approach can combine use of both CA and DC, based on radio access network instructions and radio frequency conditions experienced by a user equipment device as it transitions between CA and DC coverage areas.
