Automated document filtration with machine learning of annotations for document searching and access
Patent No. 11068490

Inventor(s): Fang Wang (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): International Business Machines Corporation (Armonk, NY)
Law Firm: Edell, Shapiro Finnan, LLC (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16239931 on 01/04/2019 (928 days app to issue)

Abstract: Computer-based methods, systems, and computer readable media for managing documents within a content repository or documents within the document subsets are provided. Documents within the content repository may be classified into one of a functional category and a clinical category. Documents are applied to a machine learning annotation and analysis module to automatically annotate the documents to indicate relationships between entities. A request is processed for the documents including one or more search terms, wherein the search terms pertain to one or more entities from a group of gene, gene variant, drug, cancer and a biomedical/clinical term. Documents satisfying the request are identified by comparing the one or more search terms to the annotations and specific sections of the documents, and determining a relevance of a document based on the comparison and a frequency of the one or more search terms in each of the specific sections. The identified documents are ranked according to custom techniques.

Systems and methods for optimizing delivery of content recommendations
Patent No. 11068527

Inventor(s): Michael James Brehm (Allen, TX), Walter John Schmidt (Dallas, TX)
Assignee(s): Rovi Guides, Inc. (San Jose, CA)
Law Firm: Haley Guiliano LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16152075 on 10/04/2018 (1020 days app to issue)

Abstract: The system and methods described herein provide content recommendations to user equipment timed to reduce interruption of content. A content recommendation application detects output of first content and determines viewing metrics for the first content. Using the determined viewing metrics, the content recommendation application determines whether output of a content recommendation should be blocked. In response to determining that the viewing metrics indicate output of the content recommendation should be blocked, the content recommendation application blocks the content recommendation. Upon receiving an input changing output of the first content to output of a second content, the content recommendation application unblocks and outputs the content recommendation.

Abstract: A device receives user interface interaction data that identifies an interaction that a user has with an interface that displays an image of a vehicle. The device generates, by using a data model to process at least a portion of the image, an array of vectors that includes one or more vectors relating to vehicle characteristics of the vehicle. The device assigns one or more weights to the one or more vectors based on the user interface action data. The device determines, based on a similarity analysis, similarity scores that indicate similarities between the array of vectors that include the one or more vectors that have been weighted and other arrays relating to the vehicles depicted in the images. The device selects a subset of the images based on the similarity scores and causes the subset of the images to be displayed.

Patent No. 11068614

Inventor(s): Minhaj Ahmed (Allen, TX)
Assignee(s): Dell Products, L.P. (Round Rock, TX)
Law Firm: Fogarty LLP (3 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16117671 on 08/30/2018 (1055 days app to issue)

Abstract: Data is frequently protected by securing the data within containers that are only accessible using a specific security application. Once such data is transferred, all protections provided by the security application are lost. Methods and systems provide secured access to data by intercepting requests for access to a data files accessed via an IHS (Information Handling System) by applications operating within the operating system of the IHS. Based on condition settings stored in the data files, access privileges are determined for applications. The conditions settings include environmental conditions required for providing access to the data. If the IHS satisfies the environmental conditions specified by a data file, access to the data file may be granted. The data requests may be intercepted by a kernel process of the operating system of the IHS. The environmental conditions may specify requirements on the networks, display devices and/or software utilized by the IHS.

Inventor(s): John Almeida (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): Atense, Inc. (Plano, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 17113859 on 12/07/2020 (225 days app to issue)

Abstract: A system and method improves operational performance of a computer by enhancing digital security with an added electronic circuit. The electronic circuit stores sensitive data in an un-erasable state such that the sensitive data may not be altered. The electronic circuit limits transfer of the sensitive data only once after each power-up or after each reset of the computer. The electronic circuit prevents access to the sensitive data by an authorized program. The electronic circuit utilizes its own storage medium and a random access memory, the latter of which can receive and store the sensitive data from the non-transitory computer storage medium. The method uses a software driver and a copy-of-copy of first security key obtained from the sensitive data stored on the electronic circuit. The software driver installs a software module on the computer using the copy-of-copy of first security key to encrypt each installed file.

Abstract: A microelectronic device is formed by forming a platinum-containing layer on a substrate of the microelectronic device. A cap layer is formed on the platinum-containing layer so that an interface between the cap layer and the platinum-containing layer is free of platinum oxide. The cap layer is etchable in an etch solution which also etches the platinum-containing layer. The cap layer may be formed on the platinum-containing layer before platinum oxide forms on the platinum-containing layer. Alternatively, platinum oxide on the platinum-containing layer may be removed before forming the cap layer. The platinum-containing layer may be used to form platinum silicide. The platinum-containing layer may be patterned by forming a hard mask or masking platinum oxide on a portion of the top surface of the platinum-containing layer to block the wet etchant.
