JCPenney Partners with Pet Shelters on ‘Photo Sessions’ for Senior Dog Adoptees

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks. But if you make them look their absolute best, you might find them a loving home—and JCPenney is making that happen.

January 24 is Change a Pet’s Life Day. And beginning today, the Plano-based company is partnering with pet shelters in 10 U.S. cities to help senior dogs find adoptive homes, by offering photo sessions at JCPenney Portraits by Lifetouch.

Locally, Dallas Dog and Dallas Pets Alive! are participating in the program. Through February 28, you can visit the shelters’s links to view their adoptable “senior stars” and all other available dogs.

“We’re excited to give the senior dogs in these shelters, who are often less likely to be adopted, their chance to shine and encourage customers to get involved with their local communities to change a pet’s life for the better,” Bill Cunningham, VP of marketing strategy at JCPenney, said in a statement.

JCPenney said it’s also donating $1,000 to each shelter and providing shelters with a $500 JCPenney gift card for supplies like towels, blankets, cleaning equipment, pet bowls, and beds. Customers can also purchase items like these to donate to their local shelters and help even more dogs in need—and of course, JCPenney is also offering Pet Portraits to paying customers and their furry companions.
