Cyber Group’s innovation lab was created in late 2020 to help its clients find new markets and build deeper relationships. It also furthers the Dallas-based company’s mission to use digital strategies and technology to increase revenues, efficiency, and competitive advantage for its customers.

“Our business has been experiencing significant growth since the beginning of the pandemic. Our customers and prospects are increasingly relying on Cyber Group to offer guidance on where to invest and how to measure return on investments on customer facing technology,” Saurajit Kanungo, president of Cyber Group, said in a statement.

To further Cyber Group’s new initiative, Rob Palacios is joining the Cyber Group team as its first chief innovation officer and also as an executive vice president.

Palacios brings over 30 years of experience to Cyber Group, including as both an executive and a consultant. During that time, he helped companies use technology to gain rapid market share and create competitive advantages, according to a statement.

“Rob’s background and experience will be immensely helpful to our customers and prospects that look for hands-on, real world expertise building fast-growth businesses,” Kanungo said.

The National Security Agency, Arthur Andersen, Hitachi, and Texas Capital Bank are among the organizations Palacios has worked with.

Cyber Group’s innovation lab will have “deep dives into what might be possible, not necessarily how to get there,” according to John Humphrey, Cyber Group’s chief revenue officer and EVP. The ultimate goal is to to bring innovation and creativity back to its clients so they can continue to grow despite the difficult business climate brought on by the ongoing pandemic.

“One of the casualties of COVID is innovation. Because there is no ‘in-between time’ for people and we are back to back in Zoom and Teams calls, innovation has been stifled,” Humphrey said.
