Mobile Infrastructure Consultancy MD7 Relocates Its Headquarters From San Diego to Allen

The move will create more than 200 new jobs and more than $6.8 million in capital investment.

San Diego, California-based MD7, a mobile infrastructure consultancy that aims to assist operators in building a more connected world, is relocating its corporate headquarters to Allen, according to an announcement from Governor Greg Abbott.

MD7 has received a $773K grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund, which includes a $10K Veteran Created Job Bonus. The move will create 218 new jobs in the Watters Creek District and more than $6.8 million in capital investment, Governor Abbott said.

According to Allen Mayor Ken Fulk, MD7 joins a growing list of corporate citizens moving to Allen to boost its diverse tax base and strategic plan.

Recently, MD7 also recently moved into a new headquarters in Dublin, Ireland.

MD7 was founded in 2003 and has since grown into a provider of comprehensive expertise to operators across the globe. According to the company, it’s the only dedicated global provider of mobile infrastructure consulting.

Today, MD7 has deep roots in mobile networks: The team sees mobile infrastructure as a “valuable asset requiring disciplined management and investment in a rapidly advancing landscape.” They take a personalized approach to projects, working in service of operators with a drive of integrity, mutual respect, and commitment.

Supports infrastructure bill in Congress

MD7 is a supporter of the Infrastructure Bill, which is pending a vote in the U.S. Congress. The bill would provide $65 billion toward broadband in an effort to make Internet access more affordable. The company wrote in a LinkedIn post that they are “excited to help carriers and site owners deliver connectivity for all.”

The new headquarters will also support that sentiment.

CEO Michael Gianni said the Allen move will allow MD7 to continue expanding globally. He and his team chose Allen to be around a community of future-focused services companies in Texas after evaluating numerous cities across the country.

“We believe the friendly business climate and exceptional work environment for our team members will be a competitive advantage as we continue to grow to serve our customers,” Gianni said in a statement. “We’re grateful for the tremendous support and incredibly welcoming approach we have received from the state and the Allen community.”

Local leaders applauded the North Texas area for continuing to attract a number of corporate headquarters, many within Senate District 8 and Collin County. Senator Angela Paxton said the state’s economy continues to be a magnet for companies and employees seeking opportunities to broaden their footprint.

According to Representative Jeff Leach, the relocation is representative of the area being a great place to make a living and raise a family. He is “proud of the active, collaborative partnership between our community and our state leaders to make this happen,” and looks forward to Allen’s continued strategic and dynamic growth.

“I’m proud to welcome MD7’s headquarters to North Texas and excited for the job opportunities created through this project for veterans and other hardworking Texans,” Governor Abbott said in a statement. “The relocation of their headquarters will have a positive impact not only on the City of Allen, but the entire state of Texas. MD7 will join an already thriving tech and telecommunications industry in the Lone Star State, and I look forward to the opportunity and prosperity that is to come through their relocation to Texas.”
